Selective Metal‐Complexation on Polymeric Templates and Their Investigation via Isothermal Titration Calorimetry

Selective complexation of metal ions represents a powerful tool for the development versatile supramolecular architectures. While research in field molecular devices and machinery is sophisticated, selective formation complexes not prevalent polymer chemistry. Thus, implementation orthogonal binding concepts into polymeric matrix presented. In this context, an end-functionalized poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAm) carrying zinc-porphyrin (ZnTPP) as well terpyridine (tpy) ligand side by utilized. With these sites, can simultaneously interact with pyridine moiety via ZnTPP interaction unit bis-terpyridine complex. The behavior different model compounds intensively investigated isothermal titration calorimetry. obtained results indicate that reported orthogonality two systems successfully transferred functional architecture.
